"It is to be made of sighs
and tears...
It is to be all made of faith and service...
It is to be all made of fantasy,
All made of passion, and all made of wishes, All
adoration, duty, and
observance, All humbleness, all patience, and
impatience, All purity...
What 'tis to love."

The Bat
by Roland West
October 18th at 7
pm Just
in time for Halloween, we present Roland West's
long-lost silent thriller "The Bat" with an original
music score written and performed by silent film
aficionado, Matthew Marshall. "The Bat" is a classic
old spooky-house mystery with unusually rich, for
its time, special effects, cinematography and
production design. This film also served as part of
the inspiration for Bob Kane's dark detective,
Batman.

The Call of Cthulhu
by Andrew Leman
January 31st at
7:00 pm
Please join us for the very independent film "The
Call of Cthulhu." Familiar with the works of H. P.
Lovecraft? Then you know how difficult it has been
to bring his world to the screen. Now, in a new work
by the H. P. Lovecraft Historical Society, under the
direction of Andrew Leman, it has become a reality.
This newly made 2005 silent film eerily captures the
true feel of a Lovecraft story, taking you to all
the dark places in just the right style. Why silent?
I think you will understand if you read Lovecraft
and come to see "The Call of Cthulhu" presented in
Mythoscope.
