London, England Travel Study Summer ‘09

The Department will offer a three-week study abroad program in London, England during the summer of ’09. Radford University courses will be offered for those taking part in the program. Interested parties should contact Monica Weinzapfel, (mweinzap@radford.edu or 540.831.5705) or the department.

Programme components included in the past have been:

• Accommodation in centrally located multi-bedded rooms with access to kitchen facilities. A central zone London Transport travel card valid for use on the Underground and the buses.
• Sightseeing tour of London by private coach accompanied by a professional guide.
• Full-day trip to Hampton Court Palace.
  A backstage tour of the Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and Royal National Theatre.
• A performance at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, The National Theatre and the Royal National Theatre.
• Excursions to the Tower of London and Crown Jewels, the Theatre Museum, The Victoria and Albert Museum, the British Museum and the Wallace Collection.
• Full-day excursion to Stonehenge and Salisbury.
• Full-day excursion to Bath with visits to the Costume Museum and to the Roman Baths.
• Full-day excursion to Stratford upon Avon to visit Shakespeare’s birthplace, Anne Hathaway's cottage and a ticket to a theatre performance at the Royal Shakespeare Company.
